The M+S rated Eagle F1 A/S-C EMT is Goodyear's Ultra High Performance All-Season radial developed for the Chevrolet C-6 Corvette that was designed to provide traction on dry and wet roads, as well as in occasional light snow. The Eagle F1 A/S-C EMT features Goodyear's self-supporting Extended Mobility Technology to temporarily provide drivability even after a complete loss of air pressure while eliminating the traditional spare tire and wheel to allow more storage and luggage space. On the outside, Eagle F1 A/S-C EMT tires feature an all-season version of Goodyear's AAtrax tread compound (the AAtrax name emphasizing that the Eagle F1 A/S-C EMT earns the highest "AA" Uniform Tire Quality Grade wet traction rating) molded into a directional tread design that combines a continuous center rib that maintains constant road contact to enhance straight-line tracking and initial steering response with high angle tread blocks and dual Aquachannels to avoid trapping water between the tire and the road boosting wet traction and hydroplaning resistance. On the inside, twin, high-tensile steel belts are reinforced with spirally wound aramid to distribute the vehicle's load across the tire's footprint to provide high-speed durability and uniform ride qualities. Rayon body plies enhance high temperature and high-speed durability while exterior sidewall rim flange protectors help guard wheels against curb damage. Goodyear Eagle F1 A/S-C EMT tires feature subtle black letters reversed out of a stylized black sidewall, and are available in the P245/40ZR18 (front) and P285/35ZR19 (rear) W-speed rated sizes for the front and rear application on the base model C-6 Corvette.

Since the Vette is my daily driver while stationed in the UK, I needed tires that would work well in our generally year-round wet and cool weather. When I had Supercar tires in SD, I drove the Vette in the cold a lot and the tires were very hard. I only drove it in the snow once...there was just a small area, maybe 40 feet, of packed snow at the end of my driveway, but the rest of the roads were clear and dry, so I decided to drive to work that day. I backed out of the driveway and almost could not move the car. With even the smallest bit of throttle, I would lose traction and the car would just slide sideways. Eventually I slid to the edge of the street and found some dry pavement, but after that, no more winter driving with the Supercar tires. Shortly after arriving here in the UK, I swapped out my spent Supercar tires for Eagle F1 A/S-C, Goodyear's recent all-weather Corvette offering. They are perfect for this environment. I drove my son to Heathrow 2 weeks ago, and halfway there it started snowing unexpectedly. The temp was around 25F and the roads were generally slushy, with a little accumulation by the time we reached the airport, but the car handled fine. No slipping or sliding at all. The only times I saw the traction control engage was if I goosed the throttle to see how slippery it was. But when I drove it calmly, it handled the conditions great. Granted, they're only W-rated (168 mph) so I have to keep that limit in mind!
