Goodyear Eagle ResponsEdge radials are Grand Touring All-Season tires developed to enhance the capabilities of sport coupes and sedans. The Eagle ResponsEdge is designed to offer year-round traction on dry, wet and lightly snow-covered roads, while delivering a blend of responsive handling and comfortable ride qualities that allow drivers to feel the road, not the rumble. Eagle ResponsEdge tires feature an asymmetric tread design with solid shoulder blocks and a continuous intermediate rib on the outboard portion to improve responsiveness and cornering stability. Diagonal aquachutes, deep shoulder grooves and TredLock sipes on the inboard portion enhance foul-weather traction. The asymmetric tread design is completed through the use of dual-zone tread compounds with a high-grip sport compound on the outboard portion and a high silica content all-season compound on the inboard portion. The tire's structure includes twin steel belts cushioned by Goodyear's InsuLayer of spirally wrapped KevlarŪ. Polyester body plies also feature an asymmetric design with a carbon fiber reinforced outboard sidewall to enhance responsiveness and cornering stability while providing flexibility to cushion the ride.

I bought this tire because I couldn't stomach the Michelin OEM replacement cost, and I wasn't ready to go with the same size at all four corners - I've read enough to know people have had no trouble, but since this model was available right-sized, I went with that. No, I won't be able to rotate them, but I feel like I'm hopefully giving the car every chance to perform the best it can without the Michelins. If price is not an object, the Michelin OEM tires were outstanding. Absolutely everything you could expect from a dry or wet summer tire, and frankly pretty good traction in the winter too, considering it's not a snow tire. These GY tires provide at least 90% of what the Michelins did in summer mode, both wet and dry for us. I'd even say closer to 95% - I rarely feel any slipping or unexpected response from them. Winter is a slightly different story. I feel like when the Michelins had fresh tread, they were better than the GY's. It's tough to say really since I can't test them back to back, but again, this isn't a snow tire - and it's not supposed to perform that way. That said, it does a great job getting us around in a few inches - up to four or five inches, as long as you know how to drive in snow. All in all, it's been a great tire, and I'm looking forward to seeing how long they last mileage-wise. I have not measured them now that we have a few thousand miles on them, but to my fingers, they don't seem to be very worn, which is to be expected. I would absolutely buy them again - it saved several hundred dollars over the Michelin alternative, and delivered nearly the same level of performance.
