The Fortera featuring SilentArmor Technology is Goodyear's premium Highway All-Season light truck tire designed to provide pickup and SUV drivers with the quiet comfort of a passenger car and rugged utility of a light truck. The Fortera featuring SilentArmor Technology is designed to blend utility, strength, comfort and style while providing traction on dry and wet roads, as well as in light snow. On the outside, the Fortera featuring SilentArmor Technology has a longwearing tread compound molded into a tread design that enhances traction and ride comfort while reducing noise levels. Staggered circumferential grooves and curvilinear sipes and grooves are integrated into the tread design to provide the biting edges that enhance year-round traction. The tire's shoulder design and sidewall offer a combination of style and ruggedness that complements the vehicle's image. Goodyear's SilentArmor Technology features an Armor Zone to provide rugged toughness. It consists of twin high-tensile steel belts reinforced by a layer made with DuPont KEVLAR cord to combine strength with comfort, Goodyear's Durawall sidewall rubber compound to help resist punctures, scuffing and abrasion, and a Rim Guard protector that helps protect wheels from accidental curb damage. The Fortera featuring SilentArmor Technology also has a Comfort Zone that uses a super-shock absorbent layer of rubber sandwiched between the tread and steel belts (providing an average of 20% more cushion than standard SUV/LT tires) to help insulate the vehicle from vibration and rough road conditions, providing a smoother, more comfortable ride. The tire's structure includes a polyester cord body to help enhance ride comfort.

It seems I lost about 2mpg. Have had them for a year. Great in snow (I live north of Syracuse NY). Also great in water, slush, and on dry pavement. I don't think I am going to get the 70,000 miles out of them but it should be close. Rotate them every time the change oil light comes on. Super quite and super smooth and provides for a superior ride. Wish they got better mpg's, tread wear and were a little cheaper. All that being said (just trying to provide the best real life review) I really like the ride quality and quiteness these tires deliver and will most likly get them again as I don't know anything that would beat them.
