The Wrangler MT/R (Maximum Traction/Reinforced) is Goodyear's Off-Road Maximum Traction tire developed for light truck driving enthusiasts that want the off-road traction and toughness necessary to meet punishing off-road conditions. Designed to conquer mud, rocks and rough terrain, the Wrangler MT/R has earned the right to be called Goodyear's toughest Wrangler radial. The Wrangler MT/R molds Goodyear's Durawall rubber into an aggressive symmetric tread design to resist punctures. The advanced tread design features a wide footprint and uses mold shape technologies to provide longer life, more even wear and lower noise levels than the previous Wrangler MT throughout the life of the tire. The tread design features independent lugs that reach far over the tire's shoulder and onto the sidewall, giving this tire a rugged look and added traction when needed. The tire's internal structure includes twin steel belts on top of Goodyear's patented Durawall construction (the three body plies of high modulus polyester cord used for the tire's carcass and an advanced silica compound) that provides cut, tear and puncture resistance to take serious off-road enthusiasts where they want to go. While Off-Road Maximum Traction tires are branded with the M+S symbol and able to churn through deep snow, their typical oversize applications and limited use of snow-biting sipes in their large smooth lugs can challenge their on-road wintertime traction on packed snow and icy surfaces.

Loved these tires! They performed flawlessly for me here in Wisconsin. I got 45,000 miles out of them by religiously rotating them every 6,- 6,500 miles. They got me through 3.5 feet of snow a few times, 2 feet of thick mud and did amazing in the rain. They did get loud towards the end of their life, but I didn't buy them for the sound aspect. I have a friend who is a manager at a national tire/service store and he thought I would be lucky to get 25,000 miles out of them. Stay honest to rotating your tires and you will be surprised at how long they will last you. One last note, when I had to take the tires off to get new ones right before I sold my Jeep, two tires had a nail each in them and a third tire yet had four nails or screws in them!! They had been there a long time and no loss in tire pressure!
